What a wonderful way to spend the weekend! An editorial commission to cover the Goodwood Revival 2017 for The Daily Telegraph. I always relish this type of commission. The freedom to shoot reportage images documenting a truly British event.

The Revival is one of the highlights of the year not only for classic car enthusiasts, but anybody with a passion for vintage fashion. Three days of top-notch historic motorsport, featuring some of the world’s most valuable historic cars and motorcycles.
On arriving on the Saturday, making my way through the bustling crowds of spectators dressed in vintage. It was almost overwhelming realising the potential images that were all round. I tried to not overload myself with camera kit to move freely between the masses of people. I could focus on the people and atmosphere. Leaving the motorsport images to the track photographers. I only headed trackside for the more colourful feature images from some of the more flamboyant track parades and two get closer to the crowds pressed up against the barriers.
The race paddocks were full of car enthusiasts mingling between the Ferrari’s, Aston Martin’s, Lotus’s and hundreds of other priceless cars. Glamorous woman dressed in vintage around the cars. There was no end to fashion images wherever I went. The only difficulty isolating the individuals to get a clean shot without hundreds of people in the background. The best dressed always keen to be photographed. In the afternoon the weather turned creating bad weather pictures. People running for cover under vintage umbrellas.
Goodwood Festival 2017 Fiat 500 Parade a delight to photograph
On the Sunday morning it was glorious blue skies. Making the Fiat 500 Parade a definite race to slot to attend. Always making colourful delightful images. Another advantage is the cars are not travelling too fast! Enabling the drivers passengers to stand up in the sunroof waving to the photographers trackside. I was lucky enough to spot an attractive passenger waving at me as the classic Fiat 500 drive past making a wonderful shot.
