Altitude Training with INEOS Team

This month I have been out photographing the road racing cycling INEOS Team ahead of the Tour de France.

I was given exclusive access behind the scenes photographing the team on the Island of Tenerife. Here they train in high altitude under the shadow of Mt Teide.

Photographing the two top British cyclists in the world Chris Froome and Geraint Thomas behind the scenes. The day started with a full breakfast, onto some light gym work, then out onto the volcanic terrain for individual pursuits. I documented all the situations you don’t usually get to see. Along with portraits in the moon like volcanic terrain.

These guys are superhuman. The heat and altitude combined with trying to keep ahead of the cyclists to locate the most dramatic vistas was a test for myself! Let alone the team of cyclists pushing their bodies to the max.
