Alternative Miss World contest – the night where bizarre is beautiful
This weekend I was commissioned to take editorial photographs at Andrew Logan‘s cultural event at Shakespeare’s Globe in London. It was the 14th outing for Andrew Logan‘s unclassifiable extravaganza the Alternative Miss World contest. The contest was a bizarre combination of extremely rude, very camp Christmas panto and a pansexual beauty pageant with wildly improbable contestants.
Documenting the creative confusion and chaos of the night
Amongst the audience is a collective of extremities. From rubber outfits to illuminated fetish costumes. Whilst contestants stripped naked on stage the audience jeered and drank, observing all the evenings flamboyant entertainment.
Several of my photographs of the event published today online and in the Daily Telegraph newspaper.
